Carbondale Powersports * About Us

Carbondale PA itself is a city with some history. Carbondale happens to be the fourth oldest city in Pennsylvania. It is a historic city actually being home to the first multi-million dollar corporation which was the Delaware and Hudson railroad. Carbondale was also the location of the first underground anthacite coal mine in the United States dating all the way back to 1831. The abandoned railroads and culm banks (huge piles of waster coal) left behind from this golden coal mining era became powersports destinations, even though they were private property. ATV's and dirt bikes have been in abundance in this area for many years.
